Fondue: delicious, sexy and hip. The perfect slow, leisurely dinner for friends. Enjoy company and conversation as you dip bread and fruit into tasty, tasty cheese. But of course it doesn't work out quite that way. Future reference: here's a recipe that does not work. Sounds delicious, yes? But it turn out lumpy and thin and gross. Twice.
We had friends over (yes, we have friends) and, after nearly two hours of stirring and watching, we gave up and ordered pizza. The tragedy is that the ingredients were fairly expensive and the fondue set was a birthday gift that we were eagerly looking forward to using. We'll try again, I'm sure, but it probably won't be next week.
