Fireflies

I'm not certain what the difference is between a firefly and a lightning bug. If someone knows the difference, or even if there is one, please let me know. I'd hate to be using the wrong term. Whatever the case may be, there certainly are fireflies (if there is no real distinction, this is the name I prefer) here in North Carolina. I've seen them with my own eyes. My camera does not take spectacular pictures in low light, so I do not have photographic proof; you will have to take my word for it.

I am just so pleased to see fireflies here. I feel like a child discovering them for the first time.
